Credit a Cat Named Corky…

…for fostering Arden Moore’s love and respect for pets. She grew up in Crown Point, Indiana and was fortunate to be paired up with a cool cat named Corky who dissed all things feline by enjoying swims in lakes and racing by her side every time she whistled.

Extra! Extra! Read All About It!

Arden spent the first 20 years of her professional career as a newspaper reporter and editor, covering everything from Super Bowls to space shuttles. The newspaper world taught her to respect deadlines, feed her natural curiosity and heed the motto: “If your mother tells you she loves you, check it out.”

From Bylines to Books and More

Since 1999, Arden has focused on topics that matter most: health, nutrition and the people-pet bond. She has authored or co-authored 17 books on cats and dogs plus a dozen more on human health, herbs, household organization and even lawn care. She is the editor of Catnip, a national award-winning monthly published in affiliation with Tufts University’s School of Veterinary Medicine, and managing editor of Fido Friendly, a bimonthly that caters to people who travel with pets. She is also a member of the International Association of Animal Behavior Consultants. Arguably, she possesses the world’s strongest typing fingers.

Arden’s Alias…

She is also known as “The Pet Edu-Tainer” for her ability to make people laugh and learn about dogs, cats and themselves. She is a popular TV and radio guest, having appeared on NPR, Fox News, CNN, Martha Stewart Living Radio and hundreds of shows all over North America.

One for the Books!

Arden is not a fan of doing anything conventionally. That may explain why she has managed to publish 17 pet books without a literary agent and how her book, Real Food for Dogs: 50 Vet-Approved Recipes to Please the Canine Gastronome became a “six-year, overnight sensation” recently by zooming up to #6 on Amazon’s best seller’s list – just five spots behind a book about a kid named Harry Potter.

Let the Fur Fun Fly!

Arden happily shares her Oceanside, California home with her “furry fab four” consisting of two rescue dogs named Chipper and Cleo and two cats plucked from the streets named Callie and Murphy. She readily admits that her pets behave better than she, which explains why she is the author of The Cat Behavior Answer Book: Practical Insights & Proven Solutions for Your Feline Questions and The Dog Behavior Answer Book: Practical Insights & Proven Solutions for Your Canine Questions but not The People Behavior Answer Book.
