Sleep Tight… Don’t Let The Bedbugs Bite

Deborah Wolfe on Pet Life Radio

Deborah talks with Sheree Swindle about what it takes to become a bed bug detection dog, and what it takes to be a bed bug dog handler.  This is not for the squeamish!  Did you know a bed bug handler must keep a live colony and feed them? That plus certification is intense and has to be redone every year so for most pet owners finding things is more for fun.  Hobby scenting has clubs and competitions for finding scented oils or just for your own uses; finding the phone, keys, your kids or your car are all possible. Check out the new channel for Deb Wolfe- Pet Expert on YouTube  to see Deb’s easy to follow demonstrations with different untrained dogs learning to find.   If you think bed bug detection might be for you or if you have a bed bug worry or concern please contact bed bug mutts and they’ll help you out (discreetly).   Today’s show discusses how the dogs are selected, trained, worked and treated and how they do their job to keep places like hospitals, hotels and homes bed bug free.
