Pet First Aid for Spring & Summer
Michelle Fern welcomes back Dr. Amber Karwacki of Heart + Paw to talk about how to keep your pets safe in the Spring and upcoming Summer months, and what you should have in your pet’s first aid kit, whether at home or traveling. Accidents can—and do—happen, so being prepared is crucial to keeping your pets safe.

BIO:
Dr. Karwacki received her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Oklahoma State University. After graduating, she worked in New Jersey and Philadelphia both in private and corporate practice as well as with a guide dog school. Dr. Karwacki’s clinical interests include surgery, behavior, and ophthalmology. She is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association, New Jersey Veterinary Medical Association, and Pennsylvania Veterinary Medical Association.
In her spare time, Dr. Karwacki can be found baking or in her garden with her husband and two sons. She participates in charity cycling events, 5K runs with her older son, and has recently started entering triathlons. Her miniature zoo at home includes two dogs, two cats, a leopard gecko, a hamster, koi pond and seven chickens.
Pumpkin and Peanut Butter Treats
2 ½ cups of whole wheat flour 2 tablespoons peanut butter
2 eggs ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
½ cup canned pumpkin
Preheat oven to 350 degrees
Combine together flour and cinnamon
Whisk together eggs, pumpkin, and peanut butter
Add the flour mix to the pumpkin mix until combined, the dough will be a little dry
Roll the dough to ½ inch thickness and use cookie cutters to make fun shapes
Place on an ungreased cookie sheet and bake for about 40 minutes (until hard)
