Cher Slater-Barlevi, MA is an Artist, Author and Spiritual Counselor with a passion for lifting consciousness on this planet.
Her background in the Arts begins as a graduate of Art Center College of Design holding a BA, cum laude, in Illustration. She’s illustrated award-winning children’s books, tabletop books, magazine editorials and education books. Her own children's books she writes and illustrates can be found under the name of 'Gramma Nanna Banana'.
She has worked 40 years in show business: working both sides of the camera –– as an actress in film and theater and featured in hundreds of commercials. She has headed Hair, Makeup, and Wardrobe Departments for film, TV and commercials. During that time she also worked as a model and stylist for photographers.Her passion as a writer started while working in Hollywood as a screenwriter for 12 years. While attending UCLA and Media Bistro, she was able to work on her dream — to write a novel about healing. For over 40 years she has worked at developing her talents as a Medium: doing readings and using her art for channeling large “SOUL” paintings having to do with images and messages she receives, to help to move people’s lives forward. She also does art with a message for people’s pets to help in the healing process whether it has to do with a pet’s health, the owner’s healing or after a pet’s passing. After earning her Master’s at the University of Santa Monica in August, 2011, she has worked with the graduate volunteers from the Freedom to Choose Prison Project. She also loves working with people, helping them to find “ The Kid Within® ” through her seminars: sharing her insights into the immense value of having “Fun” and “Play” in their lives.
