Gina Perrin

Gina Perrin is president of Heavenly Horse Haven, a non-profit horse and animal rescue organization. Gina has rescued animals of all kinds for most of her life. Early on she developed a great love for animals and in grade school it was not uncommon for her to be called into the Principals office because her pet duck had followed her to school. As a teenager she met Guena Blackmore of Rolling Hills, CA and has been a volunteer at Guenas wildlife rescue for the past 21 years. During this time Gina became quite knowledgeable about rescuing sick or orphaned wildlife and domesticated animals that would later be released back into the wild or adopted out.

After moving to Temecula, Gina was able to realize one of her childhood dreams of having her own horse. Naturally, this horse was a rescue and in 2000 she became involved with the FoalQuest organization - rescuing PMU foals from Canada. Working with Penny Scott, Gina was able to help place hundreds of foals and horses into loving new homes. Wanting to prepare these horses for the best life possible, Gina began using Natural Horsemanship techniques to train them before adopting them out. With the demise of FoalQuest Gina was able to continue rescuing and training horses on her own from feedlots in Canada, but soon realized an urgent need for local back yard rescues. When people started losing their homes to foreclosure, horses were being abandoned and left to starve at alarming rates. In 2007 Gina relocated to a ranch property in Anza, CA where she was able to assemble a dedicated group of volunteers to help start a new non-profit rescue organization called Heavenly Horse Haven.
