John Zeaman


    John Zeaman is a freelance art critic and the author of several books for children, including How the Wolf Became the Dog, Why the Cat Chose Us, and Overpopulation, all published by Scholastic.

    He currently reviews art exhibits in New York City and New Jersey for two North Jersey newspapers, The Record and the Star-Ledger. He writes a regular art column for Design NJ magazine.  He has received many awards for his work and has been nominated several times for a Pulitzer Prize.

    While on staff at The Record, he conceived and wrote a column on design in the everyday world for which he was thrice honored by the Manhattan-based Society of Silurians, the nation’s oldest press club.

    He lives in Leonia, New Jersey, with his wife, Janet Chatfield. They have two grown children.
