Sylvie Lampron

Pet responsibility expert Sylvie Lampron is the creator of Freeplay Dog Company. Freeplay simplifies dog ownership by developing and selling accessories to help owners be more responsible and have more freedom to spend time with their dogs.

Lampron is a single mother of two young teens who is passionate about teaching responsibility through dog ownership. She has owned dogs all her life and has dedicated her business to helping people "walk the talk" while walking their dogs with products that make it easier to walk and clean up after their pooches.

Her extensive business experience includes work with a number of important Canadian firms and media. She has previously worked as a Financial Security Advisor and Investment Representative for Freedom 55 Financial; as a Project Manager, Proximédia Centre d'interaction avec la clientèle; as a college instructor teaching business development courses for the agriculture industry at Cégep de l'Abitibi-Témiscamingue; and as a Product Manager for Internet and TV for Télébec. She also previously worked as a 911 Telecommunication Agent dispatching emergency calls for police, fire and EMS for Sûreté du Québec.

She was born in Haileybury, Ontario, and grew up in St-Bruno-de-Guigues, Québec with her parents and two brothers. She and her children live in the countryside at Notre-Dame-du-Nord, Quebec. A daughter of business owners in the forestry industry, Lampron was involved early in her parent's business and is involving her own children in Freeplay Dog Co.

Lampron holds a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration with International and Marketing specialties from Université du Québec en Abitibi-Témiscamingue (UQAT) and studied Law & Security Administration at Canadore College. Her conscious business values orient her business action towards health and social responsibility. Says Lampron: "Entrepreneurs have a responsibility to the rest of the world to play big, to have real vision and be willing to create a real business that not only is financially successful but also provides jobs for people in their community, and contributes to the whole of community as well."

Her affiliations include President of "Selection Committee," "Alexina-Croteau" Award by Conseil du Statut de la Femmel; Board Member, Université du Québec en Abitibi-Témiscamingue (UQAT); Board Member, Association des diplômés de l'Université du Québec en Abitibi-Témiscamingue (ADUQAT); Board Member, Corporation développement de l'enseignement supérieur et de la formation professionnelle du Témiscamingue; Regional Board Member, Ducks Unlimited Canada; and Member of "Commission des études", Université du Québec en Abitibi-Témiscamingue (UQAT). Lampron has been honored as Recipient of 25th Anniversary Medal from UQAT in 2008
