Pet Obedience and Dog Training

VIDEOS

Welcome to Teacher’s Pet!

Listen to Sarah Wilson's real-life, humor-filled tutorials on how to communicate with and train your dog. Teacher's Pet focuses on command training - and command training is as simple as (and as complicated as) communicating clearly with your dog. Dog's aren't born understanding what sit or come means. Every single thing your dog understands about a command - both the good and the not so good - he learned from a human, probably you! So, if your dog doesn’t obey as you would like, guess who has to change? You do - your dog can change but you have to change first.

One thing Sarah makes clear - there are no perfect trainers. We're all learning all the time. Each dog is a little different, each person, too. We're all on this journey together so hop on! If you have a question - ask. If you don't agree - pipe up! No stubborn, spiteful or stupid dogs here and no silly, stupid or "bad" questions – just confused dogs and puzzled people. Sarah's known for her friendly, helpful, sensible advice which is both pro-dog and pro-person. Send your questions to: Sarah@petliferadio.com

At Teacher’s Pet obedience training is something to do with your dog, not to your dog and it is fun – for both ends of the leash so - give us a try!

Mother May I

"Mother May I" is a game out of Sarah's book My Smart Puppy (written with her partner and husband, Brian Kilcommons) with the goal of teaching your dog to look to you whenever something tempting (or concerning) comes into view. Each piece of this game is taught separately but you can see the end result in the two video clips of Sarah working her rescue dog, Pip. This episode also includes a fun and creative trick that Shirley Minatelli taught her service dog, Xia. What a tidy pair these two are! All Video Clips can be found HERE
