Cat Photographer Susie Inverso

Rita Reimers on Pet Life Radio

Does this sound familiar? Your cat is doing something super adorable. You grab your camera and snap a picture, but the photo never does your feline friend justice. Then there's those black beauty kitties! You snap a quick pic of your sleek black panther and the photo looks like a lump with no face.

How do people get such great pictures of their cats? Your cat is just as beautiful (possibly more beautiful) than theirs!  When Rita and Linda met Suzie Inverso, who photographs pets professionally at her studio, Crimson Cat Photography, they knew they wanted to talk to her! Listen in to hear more and pick up a few tips for your own cat cover-girl... or boy!

BIO:

I don’t have human kids. My kids have paws!
I grew up with a sister - my Golden Retriever, Buffy - who taught me the language of animals. Which means that currently, I’m a dog person who has cats. Now, 2 felines greet me at the door when I come home. That’s why when I see a dog out in the world I get all “Squeeeee! Can I say Hi to your dog?!?!?!”
It’s just one of my quirks, besides my hair, clothes, hobbies, and general life choices.

My belief and experience is that our connection with our pets is a strong bond, a love deeper than love. I am honored to use my talent and skills - which I discovered and began to hone way back in the days of film - to create treasured works of art of your best beasts. I can’t wait.

Susie Inverso has now photographed three books in the 111 Places series. After spending her entire life in Chicago, she and her husband decided to relocate to Denver so they could enjoy the beauty of the mountains. When not hiking, biking, or skiing, Susie is a pet photographer and runs Crimson Cat Studios in Lakewood, where she helps pet-parents celebrate, honor, and tell the saga of their non-human family members! She and her husband live in Golden with their 2 cats and box turtle.
