Ruth E. “I can write about anything!”® Thaler-Carter is an award-winning writer/editor who is chair of the Cat Writers’ Association (CWA) blog and secretary of the association. She’s been writing for pay since high school and freelancing full-time since 1984, after in-house communications positions at a weekly Black newspaper, international magazine, trade association and public hospital. In addition to the CWA, Ruth is active in New Mexico Press Women, SouthWest Writers, New Mexico Writers, the National Association of Independent Writers & Editors, Society of Professional Journalists/Freelance Community, and Editorial Freelancers Association. She shares her life with Skitter, the world’s best cat.
