Rita and Linda spend many years running a bi-coastal Cats Only pet sitting company, Just For Cats Pet Sitting. Once the pandemic hit and no one was traveling, Rita decided to sell the remains of JFC to the awesome Cat Sitting Company, Meowtel, so she and Linda could focus on Cat Behavior. Now that people are traveling again, pet sitters are in high demand again, and cat-only sitters are busier than ever.
Linda and Rita interviewed one of Meowtel’s top cat sitters, Racheline Maltese, to find out why she does what she does for a living, and discuss why it’s so important to hire a sitter who specializes in cats to care for your furry felines.

BIO:
I'm a life-long cat carer with particular experience working with special needs cats. I have experience with kittens, geriatric cats, feral rescues, and cats receiving cancer and other medical care. I know that each cat has a unique personality and that all cats tell us what they need if we just take the time to listen.
I love playing with social cats, but also respect that some cats just want to hang out quietly, either with me or in their favorite hiding space. Because of my experience working with feral rescues, I am also comfortable with cats that might hiss, scratch, or otherwise respond intensely to a change in their environment and usual care routine. I get it, we're all creatures of habit. And I'm happy to work with those cats to make your time away as stress-free as possible for them. (Please note: if your cat has ever displayed significant aggression, territorial behavior, or biting that breaks skin, full disclosure is important in order to make sure I'm the right sitter for you and for us to come up with an effective care plan. You might notice I only accept cats in a small radius from my Brooklyn apartment. This is so that I can reach any and all appointments to visit your felines on foot if needed. The MTA will never get in the way of your cat getting its needs met in a timely way. I have a highly flexible schedule, so we can design the care plan for your cat(s) around what works best for them.
