Doobert

Rita Reimers on Pet Life Radio

Chris Roy is a brilliant tech guy who wanted to connect rescues and shelters with people who are willing to foster pets or offer to transport them to other cities. He planned the software, designed it, and implemented it himself. Rescues can sign up at Doobert.com (named for his late cat, Doobert) to showcase the animals they have ready for adoption. You can search for dogs, cats, horses, wildlife and so many more types of pets that are searching for their loving fur-ever home.

Not looking to adopt? You can sign up to foster or transport animals, too! Taking a trip? Put your start and end point of your route into Doobert, and they can hook you up with someone who needs to transport a pet along your route. Would you be willing to do transport only on Wednesdays within 100 miles? Sign up! Do you only want to foster seniors or animals with medical issues? You can choose your parameters and help! They also accept financial donations to keep this service going!

As Doobert is a non-profit organization. Chris works hard in tech to support Doobert, so he can help animals and rescues everywhere. We give this guy two paws up!

BIO:

Hi, I’m Chris Roy, founder and president of Doobert.

I’m a technology guy in my “day” job and I use my experience to create Doobert.com which is an online software platform custom-built for animal rescuers. It’s like a combination of Match.com specifically for animal shelters and rescues to find new partners, and then a volunteer Uber for getting the animals where they need to go. But it’s also the ONLY foster home management solution out there and the ONLY solution that allows you to get videos back easily.

I enjoy helping provide technology solutions to some of the biggest challenges in animal rescue and I am always looking for new ways to help animals and the people that care for them.

I’ve built Doobert to be a transparent, supportive organization. We always welcome suggestions, ideas, complaints, as it helps us to make the software even better.
