BIO:
Jeremy Cohen has been practicing law for 20 years. Two years ago he left his corporate clients behind and became one of the few ‘pet only’ lawyers in the U.S. Having handled a few dog cases each year since 2008, he opened Boston Dog Lawyers in 2016 and has worked on hundreds of cases since.
His law firm is dedicated to dogs and their owners and the rights they have which are too often denied. Boston Dog Lawyers believes that for pets and their owners, ‘It’s Time to Bark Back.’ Barking back encompasses making arguments that compel others to recognize that dogs, cats, horses and their owners are serious about being recognized as something more than a piece of property.
The people who contact him are the people whose dog has perhaps bitten someone. He defends them by showing there are other facts and remedies to consider besides simply putting a dog down. Some owners hire him to represent them in custody disputes over their pets. Some clients have been barred from living with their emotional support animal in violation of state and federal law. He also pursues wrongful pet injury and pet death cases to bring some accountability to those that caused the problem.
Ultimately pet owners need to know they have constitutional rights to due process and through Boston Dog Lawyers those rights are exercised to their fullest. The Firm has expanded operations to many states.
