Animal Messengers in Our Lives
How are animals messengers in our lives? What are they trying to tell us—about themselves, and about us? In this episode, I sit down with Stephanie Banks, a highly sought-after intuitive channel who helps people connect at the soul level with animals, loved ones on the other side, plants, and spirit guides. Stephanie's work is grounded not only in spiritual insight but in deep compassion born from lived experience. Her journey into Soul Communication began early, while caring for her mother who had dementia. As her mother's ability to communicate faded, Stephanie became determined to find another way to stay connected—beyond words. That devotion opened a profound spiritual channel and ultimately expanded into the work she now does with all beings. When clients come to her with concerns about an animal's behavior, Stephanie doesn't ask, "How do we fix this?" She asks the animal's soul:"What is going on for you?" or "What are you trying to express?" or "What do you need that hasn't been seen or heard?"
We also explore one of the most tender and challenging questions animal guardians face: How do you know when it may be time for your animal to transition? These soul-level conversations don't just resolve behavior issues—they restore harmony in the home and remind us of something deeply reassuring: At the soul level, communication is always possible. Truth is always accessible. Love is never lost.

BIO:
When I was in my mid-twenties, my mother’s personality started to change. Her usual quick-witted, loving disposition turned impatient, irritable, forgetful, and insistent (that she wasn’t forgetful). I started to resent and avoid our interactions.
We hobbled along for a few years, her symptoms worsening and my tolerance waning. Finally, a team of doctors settled on an accurate diagnosis: Frontotemporal dementia. She was in her 50’s.
My mother would eventually be unable to meaningfully communicate. This much I knew from my clinical career as a Speech-Language Pathologist.
A clinical approach was not going to ‘work’ on my mother. I should know: I tried it. I had to find a different way to protect our relationship and preserve our connection.
I asked my best friend to channel my mother’s soul one night as we sat outside by a fire under the stars. Being very new to the world of channeling, I had no idea what to expect. So I clutched my cup of tea and bravely asked my questions to my mother’s soul:
What do you need from me right now?
How can we stay connected to each other through this process?
What are you gaining from your dementia experience?
My mother’s soul was eager to communicate and willingly filled in the gaps of my understanding. Her soul answered every one of my questions:
“I need you to walk with me on this journey, not ahead of me. Stay present to my reality and don’t try to force me into yours.”
“We can stay connected by being playful and silly together. I want to have as much fun as possible and there’s a lot of fun left to have.”
“You often assume that I’m disconnected and disassociated from everyone around me; but, I’m actually visiting with loved ones in other realms. It is a rich experience that I cannot explain in words.”
Through the communication of her soul, I was able to let go of old resentments and unrealistic expectations. I didn’t even have to work at it. It was as if the old narrative was simply wiped away and replaced with the truth of what her soul shared. Channeling saved our connection.
I knew I had to learn how to channel for myself. After years of study and practice, I was able to connect to my mother’s soul and began to trust our new connection. I learned to channel my children’s souls and I became a more attuned, confident parent.
I learned to channel my spirit guides and I made decisions in alignment with my soul’s purpose. I learned to channel my higher self and I lived with greater integrity and self-trust. I even learned to channel Gaia and all her precious beings (trees, animals, etc) and I became a better steward of this beautiful, living planet.
My passion for channeling led me to resign from my clinical position at a local hospital to pursue my spiritual work full-time. Now, I channel for clients all over the world and teach others how to channel for themselves. My work inspires, heals, clarifies, and transforms relationships and, ultimately, humanity.
I am committed to aligning my time and resources with my values and vision for the world. To that end, I support more than 30 organizations that are protecting life on this beautiful planet.
In my spare time, you’ll find me walking my dogs, having deep conversations with my kids and friends, sitting in my garden talking to the birds and squirrels, or enjoying delicious plant-based foods that were made with love.
