Nancy Peterson
Nancy Peterson
Nancy Peterson works in the companion animals section of The Humane Society of the United States (HSUS), the nation's largest animal protection organization. Keeping pets and their people together is Nancy's passion and the goal of The HSUS's Pets for Life campaign. Pets for Life addresses the leading reasons why pets lose their homes: behavior issues, rental housing restrictions, life changes attributted to moving or a new baby, human health concerns such as allergies and dieseases that weaken the immune system and unrealistic expectations on the part of the pet's family. Before joining The HSUS in 1998, Nancy worked in a veterinary clinic as a registered veterinary technician and trained dogs for people with disabilities other than blindness. She is currently The HSUS Feral Cat Program manager and president of the Cat Writers' Association.
