Dr. Courtney Campbell on Pet Life Radio

Today we have dueling podcasts! We have teamed up with Arden Moore from Oh Behave (right here on Pet Life Radio) to answer your burning cat questions.  Arden has written a book called The Cat Behavior Answer Book and she is a wonderful expert. I can toss in some of the things I have learned from being a veterinarian and cat lover as well. We purr-omise you will learn something new on today's episode!

Who more fitting to kick off season two of Covered in Pet Hair than Arden Moore, a pet industry giant with a bartending license?!

Isabel and Arden play "What are They Having?!" a game Isabel knew she'd play with Arden before the show even made its debut. Arden is given the task to call out a drink that a pet parent would order at Ard's Den, her home office/bar/pet lounge, based on their preference for dog breeds. Are they having a messy shot, a fancy glass of champs, or something in between? Only Arden knows.

Joined by Pet Life Radio's Founder and Executive Producer, Mark Winter, this episode includes a nostalgic cruise down memory lane starting at Arden's previous career as an investigative reporter to her surprise call (or was it an email?) from Mark inviting her to do a show on his new radio network back in 2007.

Arden makes a Flaming Dr. Pepper shot and Isabel almost does the zoomies after taking a "Pick me Up" shot to toast to Covered in Pet Hair's second season and all the awesome shows on Pet Life Radio. Episode 1 is full of entertainment, booze, and even some pet travel tips that pet parents can use to keep their dogs and cats happy the next time they hit the open road. Enjoy!

BIO:

Arden grew up in a Brady Bunch-like family in a town called Crown Point located near Chicago in Northwest Indiana.

During her first year in high school, she cajoled the editor of the local weekly newspaper into hiring her to be a sports writer.  As a corn-fed Hoosier, she valued her Midwest roots, but knew she needed to experience other places.  Her insatiable curiosity led to spending the next 20 years chasing stories as a reporter and editor for daily newspapers in Indiana and Florida.   This is where Arden honed her amazing interviewing and writing skills!

From there, she entered the publishing world at the family-owned Rodale Press.  At Rodale, her “day job” was senior health writer for the book division, but she also moonlighted as a writer for their new magazine called Pets: Part of the Family.

That is where Arden realized that she could tap her love of writing and interviewing to help people become healthier, and to tout the power of her other lifelong passion, pets.  Pets and people — that’s what Arden is all about.

Fast forward to today, and Arden has done just that, in her trademark  edu-taining style.  She has:

interviewed hundreds of guests over the last 13+ years on her immensely popular pet podcast, the Oh Behave! show.

written more than two dozen pet books and counting as well as co-authored books with medical doctors and gardening experts.

recognized as America’s Pet Health and Safety Coach, teaching the latest veterinarian-approved pet first aid/CPR and safety classes.

given hundreds of talks on the health, behavior and safety for cats and dogs  across the country.

served as a pet expert on numerous television and online video segments, in addition to serving as emcee/host for pet-oriented gatherings.

authored pet-based content for blogs, magazines and educational platforms.

Today, Arden happily shares her home in Dallas with her wife, Julie, and their furry Brady Bunch of three cats, three dogs and an overworked vacuum cleaner.
