Trapping Tricky Dogs and Cats in Delhi, India

Alexane Ricard & Adelle Goodman on Pet Life Radio

This week, we speak with Anupriya Dalmia, the founder of Dogs of Delhi Spay and Neuter, and the co-founder of Paws for a Cause. These organizations have facilitated the sterilization, vaccination, rescue, foster, and adoption of dogs and cats in Delhi NCR in India, where 34,000 dogs and cats have been spayed/neutered over 8 years. Anupriya shares with us the building blocks of how their program runs, with the help of community members, volunteers, vets, trappers, drivers, and caregivers who all make this work possible. With a target of sterilizing 80% of the animals in their managed areas, we discuss special cases of strategically catching difficult, fearful dogs to create healthy, managed packs and colonies.
