Cara Achterberg is a novelist, animal advocate, and the cofounder of Who Will Let the Dogs Out, a national nonprofit that raises awareness and resources for shelters. Her latest book is, Who Will Let the Dogs Out: Stories and Solutions for Shelters and Rescues. Her memoir Another Good Dog: One Family and Fifty Foster Dogs, continues to be a guide and inspiration for anyone interested in fostering dogs. Cara lives in the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia with her husband, three dogs, and a rather annoyed cat, plus a rotating cast of foster dogs and puppies.
