Zoom Room Revisited- 10 Years Later

Ty Brown on Pet Life Radio

Ten years ago we talked with Mark Van Wye of Zoom Room.  It was a great show and new franchisees of Zoom Room actually came on board because of that show.  But a lot has changed in 10 years and the company is now franchising all over the country.

There is so much for the pet business owner to learn from this episode including how to acquire new customers at will, how to create systems for a pet business, how to predictably grow, and how to thrive in these unique times.  This show is a can't-miss.

BIO:

Headquartered in Southern California, Zoom Room CEO Mark Van Wye pilots the revolutionary dog training company, driving  day-to-day operations and the growth of its indoor dog training gyms across the United States.

Prior to Zoom Room’s launch in 2007, Mark maintained a career deeply rooted in educational values. He previously served as a teacher, writer and curriculum creator focused on the development of educational training programs. In his previous role, Mark also developed award-winning after-school programs for the Boys and Girls Clubs of America and consulted on educational projects for notable companies, including Disney, Nintendo, Microsoft and a variety of children’s television programs.

A lifelong dog owner and lover, Mark understood the ongoing instructional needs of both owners and dogs. Driven by his background in teaching, Mark seized the opportunity to redefine and evolve the dog training industry, coining the Zoom Room’s motto: We don’t train dogs. We train the people who love them.

Developed around positive reinforcement techniques, Zoom Room emerged with an emphasis on socialization for both dogs and their owners through its offering of puppy, obedience, agility and enrichment classes. Built on the belief that value derives from interactive learning, Mark and his team elevated and expanded the class offerings to include specialty classes in Pup-lates®?, urban herding, scent workshops, therapy dog training and supervised playgroups.

As the CEO, Mark centers Zoom Room on a defining principle that offers equal opportunities for franchise owners, clients and dogs, no matter their age or level of expertise. Although a master in educational development, he never considered himself an expert dog trainer. Putting the company’s innovative techniques to the test, Mark immersed himself in Zoom Room training programs to author America’s best-selling book on puppy training, Puppy Training in 7 Easy Steps, and to develop a guide for young readers titled, Ultimate Puppy Training for Kids.
