BIO:

Lauren Darr is on a mission to unleash pet style while elevating the overall visibility of the pet fashion industry. She has over twenty years of marketing experience in a blue chip corporation and as an entrepreneur. She has consulted with companies of all sizes on their marketing and specialized in maximizing exposure for companies with their trade show marketing.

Darr has been a pug lover since her first rescue to White Pines Tuttie circa age five. Tuttie was a magnificent creature that let little Lauren do everything with her. They played together, bathed together, ate together, and slept in the same bed. Most of all Tuttie was completely happy to let Lauren dress her up, put on clippy earrings, put lipstick on her, and push her around in a shopping cart. She understands the deep roots and bonds that are created between humans and animals through fashion because of the connection she first had with this wonderful dog.

In August 2013, Lauren combined her marketing experience and lifelong love of pet fashionology to launch the International Association of Pet Fashion Professionals, an organization created to provide education, networking, and showcasing opportunities to professionals creating stylish products that enhance our lives and bonds with our pets. Shortly thereafter, in October 2013, she became a #1 best-selling author on Amazon with “Pet Fashion Almanac 2014,” which she co-authored with pet industry astrologer Ellen M. Zucker.

Lauren’s busy Chicago-area home is filled with her husband, sometimes a college-aged daughter, and middle-school-aged son that she schools virtually, a fabulously fashionable fawn pug named Bella and a blue and gold macaw named Kao.
