Getting Some Skin in the Game

Dr. Justine Lee on Pet Life Radio

In this episode of ER VET, Dr. Justine Lee, DACVECC, DABT interviews Dr. Andrea Meyer, DACVD, a board-certified veterinary dermatology on skin disease in dogs and cats! If your dog is itchy or has a hot spot - or your cat is grooming excessively - tune in!

BIO:

Andrea Meyer, DVM, DACVD, our board certified dermatologist, graduated from the University of Minnesota College of Veterinary Medicine in 2008.

When she started vet school, Dr. Meyer initially wanted to be a dairy veterinarian. By the time she graduated however, she decided to preserve the health of her knees, and she changed her vocation of choice to a small animal specialty veterinarian.  She became board certified in 2013. She worked as a staff dermatologist for a referral hospital in Seattle after which she joined AERC!

Dr. Meyer particularly enjoys putting the puzzle together to determine what therapy plan works best for each patient and client.  She also thrives on the patient, client, and doctor relationship that is achieved with our dermatologic patients. She strives to help our dogs live long (and hopefully less itchy!) lives.

Her “kids” include a goofy lab named Fred and a regal Great Pyrenees named Oscar. Both of her dogs are allergic, so she understands the challenge of multiple therapies to treat one disease.

Outside of work, Dr. Meyer enjoys camping, hiking, home decorating, and spending time with her husband, Ben!
