Lisa Young

Lisa grew up in Massachusetts and became an equestrian at the age of 4. As a teenager she trained horses and competed in horse shows across New England often bringing home the blue ribbon. Her deep connection with animals is something she believes she was born with. As a young woman she lived in Europe as a model and came back to the United States to study acting in New York. Her acting career brought her to Los Angeles where she had several network deals and worked on TV shows such as “Seinfeld”, “The Jenny McCarthy Show” and the “Jamie Kennedy Experiment”. 

Lisa was volunteering for a local rescue group and was shocked to see the state of the city shelter system. One day at the shelter witnesses the pet overpopulation crisis and the suffering it caused changed her life forever.  She started volunteering her time a low-income animal hospital in East LA in the year 2000 and the seeds for The Rescue Train were planted.  In 2009 she has helped over 1000 homeless animals find their families. She wants the spirit of the Rescue Train move down the tracks for future generations to inherit.
