Denise Buffa

New York Post, President Mushyandmama.com

Denise Buffa is a reporter for the New York Post who tragically lost her beloved dog, Mushy, in June of 2007 while on a morning walk in Harlem’s Marcus Garvey park. Her grief has led her to file suit against Con Edison, the main electrical provider of New York City, and to the creation of www.mushyandmama.com, an organization which says it plans to offer rewards for lost or stolen dogs, helps defray costs of emergency veterinarian bills, and encourage children to appreciate canine companions.

Blair Sorrell

Founder, InfraShock

An early whistleblower of the public safety concern presented by stray voltage from New York’s aging electrical infrastructure, Ms. Sorrell found herself on an unplanned path to become one of the city’s foremost public advocates in an attempt to fix the problem. Her quest eventually led her to the creation of the site, www.infrashock.com, to keep people connected about potential “hot spots” in New York City and beyond.

Peter Gleason

Peter Gleason is an attorney with the New York lawfirm Levine & Gilbert representing Denise Buffa in a lawsuit against Con Edison for negligence which his plaintiff contends resulted in the death of her Italian Mastiff, Mushy, in June 2007. http://www.levineandgilbert.com/
