Mary Gormley & Gidget

Mary Gormley

Mary Gormley, the granddaughter of a horse trainer, grew up in a funeral home owned by her father in upstate New York. But her life was far from somber, and she enjoyed the constant companionship of her family's dogs, cats, a horse, and a ferret named "Slinky."

Ms. Gormley went on to become an A&R person in the music business for over 20 years, working with the likes of Sinéad O'Connor ("Nothing Compares To You"); Deathcab for Cutie ("I Will Follow You Into The Dark"); The Darkness ("I Believe In A Thing Called Love"); The Donnas ("Fall Behind Me");  and James Blunt ("You're Beautiful"). James Blunt performed a special concert to help kick off Ms. Gormley's organization, Friends of Snuffy (www.friendsofsnuffy.com) named after her late dog, Snuffy.

Inheriting her grandfather's talent for animal training, Ms. Gormley is the self-described 'person' of Gidget, known to the world as Samantha Jones'  frisky canine, "Baby" in the Sex and the City movie.
