Bernadine Santistevan

Bernadine comes from a rural community of 800 people in northern New Mexico where, after leaving Spain during the Inquisition, her family has lived for over 400 years. New Mexico is where Paco Sosa (AKA New York’s oldest dog) and Bernadine started out together. 

After leaving New Mexico, Bernadine snagged an engineering degree and an M.B.A., which led her to find work in venture capital and private equity in New York City.  

Since leaving her job, she has been working around the clock for almost two years on a film called Wolf Dog which is inspired by a true story of friendship between her and Paco—a story that shows just how much animals understand us, and how far they will go to care for us. Bernadine's hope is that Wolf Dog will open eyes around the world to the many things animals have to teach us.
