Helping Hands is All About Monkey Business!
Megan Talbert ..................... .
Megan Talbert, Executive Director of Helping Hands: Monkey Helpers for the Disabled (www.monkeyhelpers.org), stopped by to give Marcie and Whistle the scoop about how she and her staff train and place capuchin monkeys with individuals with disabilities. Helping Hands is a national nonprofit organization based in Boston that serves quadriplegics and other people with severe spinal cord injuries or mobility-impairments by providing highly trained monkeys to assist them in their daily activities. Megan explains the differences between monkeys and dogs as service animals, and she also talks about how YOU or someone you know can apply for one of these life-changing, multitalented primates!
